You have Claude connected to your WordPress site. Now what? In this post we walk through creating a complete, publish-ready blog post from scratch — using nothing but a conversation with Claude.

Start with a Clear Brief

Claude works best when you treat it like a skilled writer who needs a proper brief. Before you type a single word, answer these four questions for yourself: Who is the reader? What should they know after reading? What tone fits your brand? How long should the post be?

A weak prompt: “Write a post about email marketing.” A strong prompt: “Write a 600-word beginner-friendly post about why email marketing still outperforms social media in 2026. Tone: practical and encouraging. Include three actionable tips.” The difference in output quality is enormous.

Ask for WordPress-Ready Formatting

Tell Claude explicitly that you need Gutenberg block markup. Ask for proper heading hierarchy (H2 for main sections, H3 for sub-points), short paragraphs, and a clear introduction and conclusion. Claude will produce clean HTML that drops straight into the WordPress block editor without any reformatting.

Iterate in the Same Conversation

Once Claude produces the draft, read it critically and respond: “Make the introduction punchier,” “Add a section about X,” or “The third tip feels generic — can you make it more specific?” Claude holds the full context of the article throughout the conversation, so revisions are fast and coherent.

Publish via REST API

When you are happy with the result, ask Claude to publish it directly. It will call the WordPress REST API, set the status to publish, attach a category, add tags, and confirm the live URL — all without you touching the dashboard. Your first AI-assisted post is live.
